If you are looking for an economical racing spar set then this is it. These Blackgold spar sets are older sets that from our charter fleet. They will shows more wear and tear than a typical charter quality set of spars, but they are still a very function racing set. They would be great as a training set or for freshwater where the anodizing is not that critical. The set includes the mast, sprit, and a 40mm boom. The boom comes with all the lines, (outhaul, bridle, boomvang, and bling). The mast comes with a wind indicator and sprit halyard system. Retail price for the set new is $659.

The EX900 Blackgold mast and the EX902 Blacklite mast are 7075 alloy aluminum hard anodized to 45 micron. Therefore, they are extremely durable and provide the stiffness or flex your sailor is seeking.
Boom Options
The Blackgold spar set series has a choice of 3 booms. The tubing used to make all the booms is high grade and tempered. Captive eye straps, black nylon in- and outboard end fittings, nylon outhaul cleat, outhaul trim gauge, 4 mm Vectran outhaul and a Dyneema bridle and vang come standard on all booms.
- 40 mm BLACKGOLD? MEDIUM Optimist boom (EX940). A stiff and lightweight Optimist boom so it is suitable for the majority of sailors.
- 45 mm BLACKGOLD? POWER Optimist boom (EX945). A stiffer Optimist boom to keep more tension on the leech for the heavier sailor. The smaller bridle gives more space when tacking.
- 55 mm BLACKMAX? Optimist boom (EX955). This Optimist boom is light weight and ultra stiff, so it can be used without a bridle. This enables the larger sailor to land further forward when tacking
Sprit Options
The Blackgold spar set series has a choice of 3 sprits. All sprits are high grade, tempered tube.
- 6 mm BLACKLITE Optimist sprit (EX959) 26.6 mm black anodized 7075 tube makes the Blacklite sprit the most flexible. fitted with black end fittings and sprit chafe guard. This sprit flexes 20% more and it is a lot lighter compared to the 27 mm sprit.
- 27 mm BLACKGOLD Optimist sprit (EX960) The 27 mm Blackgold sprit is suitable for the majority of the sailors.
- 29 mm BLACKMAX Optimist sprit (EX965) 29 mm black anodized 7075 tubing makes the Blackmax sprit the stiffest sprit. This sprit is 19% stiffer compared to the 27 mm sprit, and it is recommended for sailors above 45 kg
